Nothing is uploaded. The tool runs entirely inside your browser tab using WebAssembly and JavaScript — your file never crosses the network, so there is no server copy to leak, retain or subpoena. You can prove it: open your browser devtools, switch to the Network tab, and run the tool. No request goes out.

Can the watermark be removed?

Not by ordinary means. Because the text is written into the page content stream rather than layered as an annotation, a reader cannot toggle it off. Someone with professional PDF editing software could still attempt removal — a watermark deters misuse, it is not encryption. Combine it with a password if the document is sensitive.

Can I watermark only some pages?

Yes. Choose all pages, a range like 2-5, or a single page. Useful when only an exhibit or appendix needs marking.

Will it work on a scanned document?

Yes — the watermark is drawn over the page regardless of whether the underlying content is text or an image.
